Transferring QuickBooks Desktop manually from an old PC to a new one
QuickBooks can be manually moved from an old computer to a new one. The following are the steps in this process:
Step 1: Make a backup of the QuickBooks license and company files.
- The first step is to back up the company’s files and the QuickBooks product license on an external drive.
- The next step is installing the most recent QuickBooks version on the new system.
- Download & restore that backup file to the new PC after completing that.
- Next, remove the QuickBooks program.
Step 2: Putting the company file backup back on the new PC
- Installing QB on the fresh setup is the first step for the user.
- Next, put the storage device in.
- After that, launch QuickBooks and select the file menu.
- Select the open & restore company option later.
- Select “restore a backup copy” and then “next tab.”
- Next, select the local backup option & navigate to the backup file made on the previous machine.
- The final steps are to select the spot in the newly installed system where you want to save the backup and select the “Save” tab.
